Pilot global supply and use table for iron and steel

Input-Output Analysis for Sustainable Development

Hanspeter Wieland from the trade modelling team of FINEPRINT presented the current state of work regarding the creation of physical supply and use tables for metals at the 11th GWS Input-Output Workshop entitled “Input-Output Analysis for Sustainable Development” that took place in Bochum from 13-15th of March.

A global physical supply and use table for iron and steel

The presentation showcased the first results of the model for iron and steel supply chains, where we integrate global supply and demand for a larger number of iron and steel products in a physical input-output framework. The general modelling framework and future extensions of the model were discussed with the participants.
