FINEPRINT featured by European Space Agency

The European Space Agency (ESA) is currently holding the Φ-week 2019 in Rome, focusing on Earth Observation Open Science and Future Earth Observation.

In the context of this conference, ESA is featuring the FINEPRINT project in their website section on “Observing the Earth”, with an article on “Tracing the environmental impacts of supply chains”. The article explains how FINEPRINT uses various satellite data to map agricultural production and mineral extraction, as well as their related impacts, such as deforestation.

Victor Maus from the FINEPRINT team also gave a presentation at Φ-week 2019 entitled “Satellite Earth Observations for Impact Assessment of Global Supply Chains”. The presentation can be downloaded here.
